The L7986TR is a step-down switching regulator from Microelectronics. With an input voltage range of 4.5V to 38V, it can deliver an output current of up to 2A. The output voltage can be adjusted from 0.6V.Please refer to the data sheet for the most accurate and detailed information. But here's a quick instruction to connecting the L7986TR to get you going:

1. Input Voltage (VIN, Pin 3): Connect your input power source within the specified range (4.5V to 38V) to this pin.

2. Ground (GND, Pin 5): The system ground should be linked to this pin.

3. Bootstrap (BOOT, Pin 1): Between this pin and the SW pin, a bootstrap capacitor has to be attached. This is typically 100nF.

4. Switch Node (SW, Pin 2): Connect the inductor here. The output capacitor and load are connected to the inductor's opposite end.

5. Feedback (FB, Pin 4): To adjust the output voltage, connect a resistive divider from the output to this pin. 0.6V serves as the feedback reference voltage.
