Keysight Technologies Drives AI Integration into Wireless Networks

Keysight Technologies, Inc. recently announced its official entry into the AI-RAN alliance, focusing on advancing the deep application of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in Radio Access Networks (RAN). The AI-RAN alliance was established in early 2024, aiming to strengthen collaboration between the technology, industry, and academic sectors to integrate AI with cellular communication technology, enhancing RAN performance and boosting mobile network capabilities.

The alliance's main direction is to enhance overall efficiency in Radio Access Networks through AI-driven innovation. As a powerful tool, AI has enormous potential to revolutionize wireless communication networks. Due to the complexity of RAN architecture and operations, AI has become an ideal field for optimizing mobile networks, significantly improving their reliability and efficiency.

Against this backdrop, the AI-RAN alliance seeks to find suitable methods to improve the efficiency of mobile networks, reduce power consumption, and revamp existing infrastructure to better seize new economic opportunities in the 5G and 6G eras. The alliance's research areas include improving spectrum efficiency, optimizing architectural usage efficiency, developing AI-driven new revenue opportunities, and enhancing operational efficiency and creating new business models by deploying AI at the network edge.

Keysight Technologies' deep insights and experience in AI make it a key player in building and testing future communication systems. The company actively participates in various early-stage research projects, including optimizing wireless network performance and advancing AI learning in wireless communication testing. Additionally, Keysight Technologies is a member of the NIST AI Security Alliance, contributing to standards and research projects related to AI system verification.
