The device is designed to integrate multiple functions and interfaces used in Ethernet switch applications into a single chip, including the switch fabric, packet buffers, MAC (Media Access Control), PHY (Physical Layer Transceiver), and the management interface. The KSZ8995MAI is quite complex, and a complete circuit application for it would also be complex due to the many integrated functions.
